The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.
We are seeking candidates for the position of Data Entry Coordinator (8639) in the P, SC & DBE/Procurement & Supply Chain Management.
SEPTA currently requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination at their pre-employment medical appointment.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Maintains material management database integrity through data input with quality of residing and entered data.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews and edits information for database entry. Enters and proofreads information using pc connected to the mainframe.
- Enters daily changes to stock purchase requisitions that were analyzed by buyers and chief coordinator, including buyer codes, min and max order quantities, quantity and description changes, reorder quantity order point and deletion of stock requisitions.
- Perform file maintenance of stock items (class and lot numbers) including changes to descriptions, vendor part numbers and other necessary data fields.
- Add, change and delete standard messages applicable to class and lot number as deemed necessary.
- Verifies that appropriate information is correct, returns incomplete or erroneous new stock requests for file maintenance to applicable users for correction or completion.
- Extracts data from database in order to produce pc data reports.
- Maintains control records for use in assigning lot numbers for material identification. Also, maintains log books for discontinuing class and lot numbers.
- Updates and maintains material management reports and catalog information, distributes reports to appropriate individuals.
- Performs duties associated with printer operation. Loads printer with stock blank paper. Removes printed forms and changes ribbons as required.
- Performs other miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
- Reviews and resolves problems for receipt of 0199 material from all locations with buyer, user, requester and accounting before entering in system.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass Data Entry Test.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of inventory and purchasing function, Authority departmental policies and procedures.
- Basic data processing skills, including PC application within department.
