The Role

Reporting to the Creative Director, you will play a vital role in creating visually appealing and impactful marketing materials for our company. You will be working hand-in-hand with the marketing crew to conceptualize and design assets that capture the essence of our brand.

The Job

Our Junior Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring our brand to life through various channels, ensuring a cohesive and engaging brand presence. You will be a design generalist, working in a variety of projects that include graphic design, UI, packaging, print publications, digital communications, photo and video. Some of the key responsibilities are:

• Visual Design: Create high-quality graphics across various channels (print, digital, social media, presentations).
• Brand development: Develop design concepts based on brand guidelines, target audience, and campaign objectives. Assist in photography + video production and editing; UX/UI design for websites and apps.
• Content Creation: Keep up to date on target audiences and market trends to inform design decisions. Gather and prepare product information and photography for use in marketing materials.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to write clear and concise marketing copy that resonates with target audiences. Assist with the development of marketing campaigns, including concept ideation and execution; keeping web content current and engaging.
• Communications: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective design solutions. Present design concepts and rationale to team members and stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.
• Project management: Assist Creative director with project management tasks, including budgeting, timeline development and resource allocation. Prepare mock-ups and present concepts to stakeholders for feedback and approval.

You Would Also

• Maintain a strong working knowledge of the food industry and its specific marketing needs.
• Research and gather inspiration for design projects
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and actively participate in team discussions.
• Stay organized and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow, actively seeking opportunities to expand skillset.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a Tertiary qualification or degree in Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

Other requirements:

• A strong Design portfolio.
• Excellent understanding of marketing principles, branding, and content creation.
• Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud).
• Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in the creative industry.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in digital marketing environment.
• Skills and experience building and maintaining effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand market and consumer preferences is a plus.
• Knowledge of the foodservice industry is a plus.
• Knowledge in any of the following is a plus: UX/UI, photography, video production, video editing, copywriting.
