Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Education Improvement Lead (Primary and Special Schools) to work in Uxbridge. This position is initially for a period of 6 weeks and will be paying £450.00 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

Be responsible for the local authority’s work strand in challenging and supporting Primary and Special Schools, working as a lead member of the Education Improvement and Partnership Service.

The role of the Lead Adviser is predicated on the understanding that the post holder will have significant ‘link school’ responsibilities in allocated schools. They will also lead and take individual responsibility in local projects and line-manage another colleague or external consultants when required. They will have a credible expertise in a particular strand or phase of school education, with a commitment to performing a leading operational role in the delivery of the Council’s objectives and be an expert representative of the Council’s views and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Head of Education Improvement Partnership in planning and implementing a professional development programme for Education Improvement Advisers.
• Ensure the Education Improvement Adviser receives the appropriate level of communication to maintain engagement with the Council’s vision, priorities, and activities.
• Deputise for the Head of Education Improvement, Standards and Partnership as required.
• Provide a front-line lead role in establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with school leaders and academies in supporting and challenging local schools to deliver excellent outcomes for Hillingdon learners.
• Provide operational advice and support to champion and promote educational excellence, whether schools are maintained, academies or free schools that are part of, and accountable to, the Hillingdon educational community.
• Play a central role in developing and maintaining a strong working relationship between the local authority and schools, academies, and the local self-improving system leaders.
• Manage the Education Improvement Adviser of the designated phase and strand, managing external consultants when required
• Implement the borough’s School Causing Concern policy and procedure with the schools responsible for
• Support, challenge and monitor a number of link schools in order to support quality provision and improved standards
• Apply evidence-based approach, utilising the education management information and intelligence to provide an overview of the performance of the designated schools and settings, preventing the slide into poor performance in schools irrespective of the status of the provider
• Identify and plan intervention where school failure is a risk, and maintain an accurate and up to date database on the performance of schools and pupils
• Play a central role in achieving a collective approach towards vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils to narrow the attainment gaps, identifying the areas that require a “team around school support”
• Manage local authority projects in the designated streams of education improvement work

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
• Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher in the UK.
• Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. QTS gained from an ITT programme. Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
• Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
