SG Consulting Limited Looking for Business Analyst – Data Focus at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Business Analyst to join a leading telecommunications client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in working with large datasets, interpreting data trends, and translating business requirements into actionable insights and technical specifications. Telco industry experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
• Work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to translate business needs into data models and reporting requirements.
• Identify data quality issues and provide recommendations for data governance and cleansing.
• Perform data profiling, gap analysis, and support data migration/transition activities.
• Drive insights and trends from large volumes of data to support strategic business decisions.
• Develop use cases, process flows, and business cases for data-centric projects.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture requirements and communicate solutions.
• Support testing activities, including UAT, by creating test scenarios and validating data outputs.
• Act as a liaison between business and technical teams ensuring alignment and shared understanding.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on data-related projects.
• Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data lifecycle management.
• Proficient in SQL and able to query and analyze large datasets independently.
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Solid understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Experience in Agile environments with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
