Assistant Director of Youth Education and Skills
A national skills role to develop growth, delivery and marketing strategies for sourcing & delivering targeted growth in young people provision; Traineeships, T levels Supported Internships, Alternative Education, Pupil Referral Unit development, Early Years and related skills contracts as designated always supporting learners individual needs and barriers. To roll out those strategies, to ensure contract KPI achievement and C1 (gross profit) is achieved, monthly contract profiles are met, and outcomes are realised in line with the Strategic Directive 2030 defined outcomes. To develop an outstanding curriculum provision and ensure that all students within their area of responsibility have an excellent quality learning experience. To establish and develop relationships with employers and key partners to support 16‐24-year-olds into work experience, relevant industry placements and employment.
To lead and support the respective outward facing employer led team sourcing employers to support the delivery, progression and work placement and employment opportunities for the provision.
Responsible for highly effective and efficient 16-19 and 19-24 Special Educational Needs (SEND) curriculum ensuring it is fit for purpose meeting the needs of all learners on programme including those with Educational Health Care Plan and Special Educational Needs and Disability requirements and relevant to meet the needs of employers to aid learner progression into sustainable employment opportunities including Apprenticeships.
Drive all skills performance for defined contracts, leading and supporting the team to re-win them by engaging with the Shaw Trust Commercial Directorate and all local stakeholders.
To be accountable for the overall contract management KPI’s and delivery of all contracts, directing and leading the team to deliver high quality performance and progressive outcomes.
Experience
Educated degree level and/or significant experience within relevant field.
Management qualification or relevant experience managing multi disciplinary teams
Full membership relevant professional body/willingness to work towards
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of all ESFA (Education Skills Funding Agency) funding and contracts to include Traineeships, Supported Interns, and T levels.
Experience of Alternative Education, Pupil Referral Units and SEND and early years provision.
Demonstrable experience of successfully working to targets and achieving KPI’s
Experience of driving contract performance and delivering high quality performance and progressive outcomes.
