We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified adult tutors to join our Family, Adult and Community Education Service (FACES) on a sessional bank pool capacity. It is a great time to join us as we work to ensure we give Sheffield adults the best opportunities to gain skills, knowledge, and opportunities to enhance their career prospects and achieve their learning goals.
We are looking for innovative, self-motivated individuals who can inspire and encourage adult learners to engage in learning, develop confidence, and make positive life changes for themselves and their families. We are looking for individuals to reignite a learners’ passion for learning and work, to ultimately achieve accredited qualifications in a community setting in and around Sheffield.
We are specifically looking those that are qualified to teach ESOL, but we will consider applications from anyone with a specialist teaching qualification.
In your role as an ESOL sessional tutor, you will be planning and delivering high-quality ESOL lessons to a wide range of learners. These courses will enable learners to progress onto other courses/employment in the future. You will be able to develop a range of online learning approaches using learner friendly platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom, as well as working in different sites across Sheffield.
As part of your duties, you will also be expected to complete all relevant course documentation as required and attend staff training. A teaching qualification is required as well as ESOL subject specialism (TESOL/CELTA). An ability to demonstrate an excellent track record of high teaching standards is essential and delivery in a community environment would be an advantage.
This is a sessional tutor post, where work will be offered based on local demand.
