Shout Media Looking for SEO/SEM Specialist at Thunder Bay, ON Full Time

We are looking for an experienced full-time SEO/SEM Specialist to develop SEO and manage digital and social ads for our clients. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about, and inspired by, all things SEO/SEM and be responsible for supporting the development and execution of SEO-related content and SEO/SEM workstreams. In addition to SEO/SEM, the candidate will also have a working knowledge of executing social ads on the Meta platform. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with new and existing clients and ultimately assist Shout with bringing their client’s digital marketing to the next level.

The SEO/SEM Specialist will have the option to combine working from the office and working from home.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the SEO/SEM Lead Strategist,, your job responsibilities will focus on recommending and implementing best practices for both SEO and SEM strategies for Shout Media clients. This includes understanding and being able to implement the following:

• Ability to use and understand Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools, Yoast and Install and configure SEO plug-ins.

• Understand and implement SEO strategies including: generate and submit a sitemap, keyword research, keyword gap analysis, find long-tail keyword variations, create a keyword map, prioritize by search volume and keyword difficulty, fix duplicate, missing and truncated title tags, find and fix duplicate meta descriptions, find and fix multiple H1 tags, improve title tags, meta descriptions, and page content, optimize images for SEO

• Understand and able to optimize web load speed, HTTPS, find and fix crawl errors, check for duplicate pages and sites, identify and fix broken links, use an SEO-friendly URL structure, find and fix orphaned pages, add structured data

• Setting up and managing paid Google ad campaigns (keyword, display, performance max, video, etc), monitoring budgets and ad performance, providing data and reports to the team. Work with the Digital marketing team to ensure broader marketing campaigns are coordinated and SEM objectives are met.

• Keep up-to-date with SEM and PPC best practices and search trends.

• Work with the marketing team to optimize copy and landing pages.

• Setting up and managing paid social ads on the Meta platform. (social ads are a secondary focus to SEO/SEM and training will be provided if applicant does not have any experience)

Qualifications & Experience
The chosen candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Have excellent knowledge of the Google ads platform including search, display, video and shop. You’ll work with the team to set up and manage all PPC ads.

• Research and implement PPC recommendations.

• Knowledge of the Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager is an asset but not required

• Ability to develop, monitor and distribute meaningful performance metrics.

• Possess in-depth experience with website analytics tools

• Working knowledge of HTML and CMS (WordPress)

• The ability to work autonomously but also as part of a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Rate of Pay
We offer an excellent benefits package and a starting salary range of $46,000-$52,000 based on experience. Following the 1st year of employment, regular increases will be offered as the employee gains experience and is able to demonstrate the necessary skills to keep progressing in their position.
