SIM is looking for a Designer with skills and capabilities in instructional design, with an interest in a broad array of topics including sustainability, complexity, and leadership; as well as an interest in instructional design for digital learning. That is, an individual who is interested in digital learning approaches, frameworks, and technologies, etc. More broadly, this candidate is interested in applying his/her expertise and interests in instructional design to making a purposeful contribution to the Professional Development and Enterprise Learning space in Singapore as a design lead. Our goal is design learning solutions to help reskill and/or upskill Singaporeans to meet the demands of the job market and future work as the Singapore economy increasingly relies on value-add skills. Simply put, our goal is to empower individuals and enterprises thrive.

Jobs and Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct Training Needs Analysis to understand how best to deliver learning via digital mediums, and in combination with non-digital approaches, to meet learning needs.
  • Design digital learning solutions (be it self-directed learning or blended with non-digital approaches) that enhances learning in support of professional development and enterprise learning.
  • Design and develop both non-digital and digital-enabled courseware and training materials.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to align the courses to meet learning objectives to be delivered through digital mediums and non-digital approaches.
  • Work on aligning courseware for bespoke-custom solutions, and for government funding (where applicable).
  • Expertise and experience (approx. 1-3 years) in designing and developing learning solutions. Experience with digital learning solutions is an advantage. Experience in contextualizing content for industry and experience implementing digital solutions is an added advantage.
  • Willing to actively learn and has a keen interest in keeping abreast of leading edge digital learning technologies and advancements, as well as a broad array of topics including sustainability, complexity, and leadership.
  • Team player and collaborator.
  • An advanced degree or certification in learning technologies and/or digital learning is an advantage (but not a requirement).

Skills

  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, including (but not limited to):
    • Learning management systems like Canvas, Kalthura, and Blackboard, etc.
    • Curriculum management systems like Global IT Factory, etc.
    • Online platform management systems like Keypath, UpGrad, etc.
    • MOOC platforms like Coursera, EdX, etc.
  • Relevant certification in the field of Learning and Development such as WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) OR WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) is an added advantage (but not a requirement).
  • Certificate in Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning (DDDLP) is an added advantage (but not a requirement).
  • Experience in e-learning and creation of digital content would be an asset (but not a requirement).
