Simcoe and District Humane Society offers very limited opportunities for employment, when able to receive government funding for employees.
Summer Jobs are offered through funding by the Canadian Government. Please see Canada Summer Jobs criteria.
Our volunteer team is very small, and we are looking for individuals who can learn quickly, follow policies, procedures and fit into our shelter environment as seamlessly as possible, all while helping the animals.
We are now accepting applications for the 2023 season and jobs are dependent on receiving Canada Summer Jobs Subsidy.
Starting dates are staggered from April 30 – June 30 and is a valuable practical Animal Care experience both hands on with the animals, learning animal related databases by keeping it up to date, fundraising for Charitable purposes and more.
We are a smaller shelter, but we look after many animals and many different species each year.
This is a highly competitive program, and we choose the people who we believe will fit the best. We will expect you to work for 35-40 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks (possibly 12-16).
