SJS Executives LLC Hiring for UST Administrator at Los Angeles, CA Full Time

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a talented UST Administrator for a position within the Greater Los Angeles VA healthcare system.

SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.

The pay range for this position is $43,680-$49,920 There are also 11 paid federal holidays, 10 days of PTO accrual, medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Responsibilities of the UST Administrator:

• Ensure VAGLAHS storage tanks are safe, operable, and maintain their annual certifications by scheduling, coordinating, and tracking all maintenance, inspection, repair, and certification actions required
• Maintain the California Environmental Response System (CERS) website material for VAGLAHS for 15 storage tanks; upload timely maintenance and compliance data and reports to the website as required by law
• Four days per week, escort third party inspectors and vendors to the VAGLAHS campus sites where the 15 storage tanks are located and wait on site while work is being performed by these organizations. Ensure the third-party inspectors and vendors depart the campus after work is completed
• Maintain underground and above ground storage tank records including tank certificates and maintenance, inspection, and repair records; some records are electronic, and some are paper files stored in approximately 30 binders. Ensure the appropriate VA personnel, third party inspectors, and third-party service providers sign all legal paperwork as necessary.
• Request quotes and schedule and track storage tank repairs by third party vendors; perform visual inspections of tanks as necessary to validate vendors’ work quality (please note that these visual inspections do not require confined space entry)
• Develop and maintain a strong rapport and communicate effectively on a regular basis with the local South Coast Air Quality Management district and Los Angeles Fire Department inspectors as well as the third-party service contractors
• Maintain accurate driving log and submit IRS mileage reimbursement requests monthly; driving duties expected to be about 4 days per month
• Contribute data to OSH department reports and presentations.

Requirements:

• Strong computer skills, note taking skills, customer service skills.
• Prior working experience with UST maintenance including familiarity with California regulations concerning USTs such as spill buckets, SB989 triennial tank integrity tests, tank instrumentation, and overfill protection requirements preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel databases
• Familiarity with Center for Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health (CEOSH), Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), and similar environmental compliance requirements preferred.
• Valid, current driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); must have personal vehicle to drive between the 3 geographically separated VAGLAHS campus locations within the City of Los Angeles; vehicle mileage and wear and tear is to be compensated using IRS standard mileage rates.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
