What you will be working on
RPD is part of SSG’s Planning Group (PG) which provides guidance on the strategic direction of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Specifically, RPD is responsible for the effective planning of resources and oversees budget management to achieve agency’s goals:
• Plan, manage, and allocate SSG’s budget;
• Formulate corporate-level funding policies and funding parameters;
• Plan and allocate manpower establishments; and
• Evaluate budget requests for funding of programme partners
This role reports to an Assistant Director and is part of a team responsible for ensuring funded programmes are aligned with SSG’s funding policies and support SkillsFuture initiatives and SSG’s overall objectives:
• Evaluate budget requests for funding of programme partners from Divisions and make recommendations for Internal Approving Authority’s approval;
• Serve as secretariat for the Budget and Resource Allocation Committee (BRAC) and Grants Committee (GC) meetings;
• Handle and prepare responses to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders on SSG’s funding policies; and
Maintain knowledge management repository of project budget approvals.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals/ teams internally and externally;
• Effective written and oral communication skills;
• Effective presentation skills;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
• Good with details, meticulous and systematic;
• Understanding of funding policies and concepts;
• Proficiency in numerical calculation and statistical analysis;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
