What you’ll do:

Work with developers and architects to create and deliver innovative end-to-end solution designs for products that meet the requirements of the sponsor while maintaining the overall integrity of the technology systems estate

Make good decisions about when to invest in building solutions ourselves, when to buy off-the-shelf and when to partner with 3rd parties
-
Assist delivery teams to implement the overall solution architecture, adjusting it as needed in the face of changes to the proposition through to product launch

Ensure the involvement of the relevant technology community members in the solution design, including those responsible for non-functional aspects such as security, performance and capacity planning
-
Work as part of delivery teams on proof-of-concept or prototype design and development tasks to identify and prove key aspects of solution architecture

Provide expertise on open source/specialist tools and systems and thought leadership around agile development practices

Mentor other software engineers on best practice and encourage/contribute to their performance development, also being involved in the hiring process for the technical roles we’re recruiting for

Spend around 30% of your time providing direction and support to the team and wider dependencies as mentioned above and the remainder of the time on development and working on product and tech-driven features
What you’ll bring:
-
Experience and strong technical ability in React and wider technologies like Redux, Jenkins, Concourse and GraphQL
-
Strong knowledge of Cypress, React Testing Library, TypeScript, CSS in JS (Emotion), VC (Git and Github) and frontend build tools (Webpack)

The ability to make good technical decisions and to convince others as to the merits and reasons for those decisions
-
A demonstrable track record in software development working within a software delivery team
-
A demonstrable track record in the design and delivery of leading-edge strategic business solutions from concept through implementation
-
Wider understanding of emerging technologies and their place in the world with the ability to do R&D in order to gain a better understanding of them
-
The ability to apply modelling techniques as needed to data, logical and physical architectures
-
Delivery experience within an agile Scrum/Kanban environment

The Office:
Our Osterley campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Acton Town and Ealing Broadway tube stations. There’s also plenty of parking, bike shelters and showers.
On campus you’ll find six subsidised restaurants and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
