Group Technology Digital Transformation
Want to create a smooth and uninterrupted digital experience for millions of customers? Then our Group Technology Digital Transformation is the team for you. Agile, collaborative, data-driven and diverse, our team works on brilliant products like NOW and Peacock. That’s not even the best part. We get to build our own software and our work has a global stage. Our team also delivers exceptional customer experiences and defines digital first propositions in customer journeys across all channels.

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Scala microservices for Sky and Comcast across Europe and America

Continuously experiment to find improvements for our services and how we work.

Learn and share knowledge across the team and department

Be part of a team that embraces DevOps culture, and strives for the best possible, reliable, continuous deployment pipelines with Kubernetes.

Create applications that scale predictably, facilitate development across multiple developers and promote maintainability and extensibility.

Collaborate across all areas of NowTV and Sky to ensure deliveries are co-ordinated and consistent.
What you’ll bring
-
Passion for Scala development
-
Applied knowledge of the principles of Test Driven Development and the benefits that are realised.

Advocacy for pair programming and code review
-
Experience with developing for containerisation and orchestration tools such as, Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra
-
Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka
-
Familiarity with Actor models such as AKKA streams
-
Familiarity with continuous integration/delivery tools like Jenkins
-
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
-
Application development experience on building large scale, high volume services
-
Experience of working with distributed systems, specifically microservice architecture

Your office space
Osterley
Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
