EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Full-time, Permanent | Start Date: January 23, 2023

Skyridge Montessori is seeking an Executive Director to join our motivated and collaborative team. We strive to foster a supportive work environment in which staff have the freedom to lead, create, and innovate.

Skyridge Montessori has been providing a high-quality Montessori education to families in Squamish for more than10 years. Perched on the side of a mountain, with sweeping views of Howe Sound and endless trails at our doorstep, students from Casa to Grade 9 thrive in our newly constructed school, well-prepared Montessori classrooms, and rich outdoor learning environment.

Our Executive Director will be responsible for leading administrative and operational activities in support of the school’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

General: Provide daily administrative support for the Head of School, staff and the Board.

Admissions: Responsible for admissions activities, including recruitment of prospective families and onboarding and document management of new families.

Finance: Responsible for budget development and management, accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits, payroll, maintaining financial records, preparing monthly financial statements for review by the Board and leading annual financial audit.

Human Resources: Manage staff recruitment, retention and benefits.

Communications: Responsible for management of the school website, family and public communications, social channels and design of school collateral (Annual Report, Handbooks, etc.)

Events: Responsible for supporting the execution of events that may include staff meetings, family events, education evenings, student orientations, and Open Houses.

Facilities: Manage the school facility, including all annual inspections and emergency planning.

Qualifications + Experience

• 5+ years experience working in a senior administrative and/or operations-specific role.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets and financial processes.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications plans.
• Strong written communication and editing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities with a positive attitude while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment while consistently demonstrating tact, discretion, and a high degree of confidentiality.
• Experience with Google Workplace, QuickBooks and WordPress are significant assets.
• Preference for individuals with non-profit experience.
