Slocum Orthopedics Hiring for Data Entry (Payment Poster) Job at Eugene, OR Full Time

We are seeking a candidate for our data entry (payment posting) department. This position posts payments received from both patients and insurance companies on a daily basis. Payments must be balanced to bank statements or deposit tickets. There are some other duties as assigned but at least half of the work is payment posting.

This position requires a great deal of attention to detail, reading insurance Explanation of Benefit (EOB) statements, math skills and problem solving. Previous posting experience and knowledge of the billing cycle desirable, but not required. Previous experience in a healthcare organization required. We use NextGen practice management system – previous experience with NextGen a plus, but not required.

Slocum Center for Orthopedics business office is a fast paced, team oriented environment. There may be times that you are asked to help with other duties in the business office, based on organizational needs. Hours are Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm, however can flex slightly for appointments, errands, etc. This is an in office position.

Prior experience in a medical office desired. Must be highly organized, able to work independently as well as in a team and have the ability to work under stress.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to remain calm in demanding situations.
