Overview
This is an Associate position that reports into the Market/Capital Transaction Team Lead #1 and will work with other teams within the RRQA Department to carry out the regulatory reporting quality assurance (“RRQA”) mandate within FAD Controllers to ensure that the regulatory reports are prepared in accordance with applicable reporting guidelines, and comply with internal department policy and procedures, as well as communicating/monitoring issue remediation and enhancement opportunities to management and other stakeholders. RRQA’s main objective is to provide assurances to the CFO Function that potential material misstatements due to internal control deficiencies, misinterpretations and data issues that could impact regulatory reporting are minimized.
Responsibilities
Assist with the initial risk ranking of in-scope reports for testing purposes;
Assist with transaction testing and conformance reviews of in-scope reports (FR Y-14A/M/Q, FR Y-15, FR Y-9C HCR Schedule and FFIEC 102);
Assist with performance of test of design and test of operating effectiveness over critical key controls within the end-to-end production processes related to FR Y-14A/M/Q, FR Y-15, FR Y-9C HCR Schedule and FFIEC 102;
Assist with preparing and updating SMBCAH and NYB’s annual RRQA assessment plans with other staffs in coordination with Market/Capital Team Lead, Group Head of P&C Department and Co-Head of RRQA (Market/Capital) Department;
Assist with managing and reporting the remediation status of RRQA findings/observations identified by your team with Market/Capital Team Lead, Group Head of P&C, Co-Head of RRQA (Market/Capital) Department and P&C Issue Management Team Lead;
Maintain good working relationships with key business/governance/data governance and IT stakeholders in order to complete the assessments;
Maintain a collaborative relationship with Internal and External Examiners in order to ensure that the RRQA assessments are executed in an effective and efficient manner;
Qualifications
3-5+ years of relevant experience in regulatory reporting quality assurance or production regulatory reporting (e.g., FR Y-14A/M/Q, FR Y-15, FR Y-9C HCR Schedule and FFIEC 102 ) within financial services industry is a plus;
Team player with a good sense of ownership and accountability
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
Well versed with Microsoft office applications, knowledge of data analytic tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus
Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA) is a plus
