Contract Type: Part-time, Fixed Term subject to SOAS Term dates and module-specific responsibilities
Salary: Salary starting at Grade 6 (£17.44 per hour, inclusive of London Allowance) Contact hours are paid at a multiplier of 2.5 basic hours, with annual leave accrued and paid in April, July and December)
Location: Bloomsbury, London
Hours: 2 per week + contact hour
About the Role : Our Department has a vacancy for a fixed term Graduate Teaching Assistant to support with the teaching and delivery of the undergraduate module H278: Muslim Societies in West Africa.Tasks may include supporting teaching, delivering lectures, leading seminar/tutorial groups, course preparation and administration, marking and other tasks deemed necessary by module convenors.Please note that all opportunities are dependent on student enrolment. At this stage the Department cannot guarantee that all the aboveModules will require fractional appointments.
Skills and experience: Candidates will be expected to have specialist knowledge in the discipline(s) related to the contracted course, the ability to design and develop lessons for, and deliver engaging teaching to undergraduate students from a diverse background, and strong time management skills, with the ability to plan work independently and meet varied deadlines.
