South Pacific Meats, a New Zealand owned, meat processing company has vacancies at our Burnham Processing plant near Christchurch

SPM Malvern a New Zealand owned, meat processing company has 50 openings at our Processing plant located in Burnham for Experienced Meat Process Workers.

Working a minimum of 30 hours per week you will generally complete 8-10+ hours a day, 5-6 days a week, hiring for day and night shift

Experienced beef slaughterers earn between $30 and $38 per hour or on average $75,000 per year

As a skilled Meat Process Worker you will have had two years’ experience in red meat slaughter floors or have successfully completed New Zealand Apprenticeship in Slaughter Operations (Level 4) or a recognised equivalent

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a lot of duties including:

• Slaughter cows and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
• Cut beef or quarters into primal cuts for further cutting, processing, or packaging, de-boning the cut meat into specific cut for commercial or other wholesale use.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.
