Mō te tūranga | About the role

We are seeking a fit motivated person to join our team as a Health Care Assistant. Work will be on our General Ward assisting the nursing team with a range of duties including:-

• Supporting our nurses and other members of the health care team
• Patient supervision and/or movement
• Patient cares as required
• Stock reconciliation
• Ward maintenance
• Patient watch, with one-on-one care as required

Or you may assisting with screening of visitors and patients at the hospital entrance. The work will involve rostered shift work.

The rostered hours are Monday to Sunday and will include Morning, Afternoon and Night shifts.

To provide the necessary support to our nursing team, our ideal candidate will have:

• High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Good organizational skills
• A proven ability to carry out manual tasks
• Good communication skills
• A positive attitude towards work

Previous experience working in a health/disability setting or with the general public would be an advantage.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Multi Employer Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($51,770 p.a.) and Step 5 ($61,540 p.a. pro-rata).
