Works closely with the Manager/Sr Manager Maintenance to achievegoals of the department and meet or exceed performance metrics of the Team.ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with fellow Supervisors and Leadership to achieve Departmentmetrics and objectivesSets clear expectations on daily assignments and proceduresEffectively communicates process changes and procedures to their EmployeesAssures Compliance with all applicable polices set forth in SouthwestTechnical Operations HandbookAssures all work performed during the assigned shift is in accordance withapproved Maintenance proceduresAssures Maintenance documentation of work performed is entered into computerbase prior to aircraft departureReviews work packages for completeness and accuracy before all aircraft isreturned to serviceAssures that all RII items are properly documentedAssures that all deferred maintenance items have the required parts and laborhours recordedCoordinates aircraft maintenance requirements with all pertinent CompanyDepartments, specifically through Maintenance Control, to advise thecurrent maintenance status of the aircraftUpdates various daily reports within the required systemsMonitors the progress of each aircraft and takes necessary action to assureon-time departuresCoordinate with Command Center for all operational issuesReviews with Lead Mechanics the assigned work packages and adjusts them asrequiredMonitors productivity and labor hour requirements on the assigned shift, andprovides adequate labor hour coverage for the oncoming shiftEvaluates the need for required overtime and schedules it accordinglyApproves required payroll documentsMonitors sick leave and takes the appropriate action when requiredProvides instruction and on-the-job training as requiredMonitors Training Reporting System or Programs for mandatory training toensure ComplianceResponsible for New Hire Evaluation and FeedbackComplies with SWA Safety and EPA practices, and maintains a safe workenvironmentComplies with TSA security requirements to ensure facilities and aircraft aresecureComply with Station weekly Line and Hangar auditsOversee aircraft taxi/repositioning operations on the fieldOversee aircraft locations at the terminal and hangar maintenance facility andcoordinates with Station Command Center for Flight requirementsAssures facility and maintenance equipment is maintained in a safe andoperational mannerResponsible for ensuring proper delay coding for delayed aircraftAssigns Mechanics for down-line trips as required by MX ControlProvides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with allinternal and external CustomersMust be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on thisdescriptionMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s LeadersKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines for hazardous materials a plusMust have strong written and verbal skills and the ability to speak in a groupsituationAbility to read and comprehend technical reports, instructions, andmaintenance documentsMust have good decision making skills and confidence to effectively direct thework of the individuals on the Team.
