Spark New Zealand Looking for Data Analyst / Engineer at Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand Full Time

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with expertise in Data Engineering and Data Analysis to become a valuable member of our team. You will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled technical team dedicated to managing Spark’s network capacity. In the role, you will involve collaborating with our network capacity planners across different network domains. You will provide them with support in data engineering, data analysis, and data insights, empowering them to make informed decisions based on data.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the Python programming language-based network data extraction codes created by our data engineer.
• Identify and resolve data quality concerns, guaranteeing consistent and accurate data.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure uninterrupted and dependable data transmission.
• Collaborate and support the network data scientist in creating data objects and schemas for supporting modelling, analysis, and reporting.
• Assist the network capacity planner to automate their process and work.
• Support the creation and upkeep of data models, data visualizations, and data automation.
• Document data engineering processes and configuration details to facilitate knowledge sharing
• Provide network data analysis and insights to assist capacity planner in making data-driven network investment decision
• Assist in generating reports and dashboards to effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a related role
• Proficiency in Python programming with knowledge and experience in R, web scrapping automation and Splunk programming a plus
• Solid skills in data extraction, manipulation, cleansing and transformation techniques
• Proficiency in working with SQL and relational databases, familiarity with in-cloud data warehousing technologies such as MS Snowflake
• Understanding of data governance and data security principles
• Experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Knowledge of Telecommunication is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
