Spark New Zealand Looking for Support Engineer – Wintel at Auckland City, Auckland Full Time

The First Response Operations (FRO) team is seeking a highly motivated and highly skilled Wintel Support Engineer to provide system and network operations support in a 24/7 operations team.

The FRO team plays a key role in maintaining a highly available network for Spark and its clients. Working alongside various technical teams in a dynamic and technically challenging environment, you will be at the centre of remedial activities while continuing to learn and have the opportunity to advance in a variety of directions.

As a person interested in Operations, you’ll diagnose Spark’s and its Clients infrastructure and application issues, implement changes, manage and configure devices and systems, and add value to the business by proactively managing incidents. You’ll be troubleshooting and using all the resources at your disposal to resolve any issues presented to you.

You will have relevant Microsoft industry certification(s) with proven 5+ years’ experience as a minimum and preferably training towards Citrix, VMware, Azure and/or Intune. Mainly though, you’ll have a flair for analysis and problem solving and your ethic for service delivery and customer service will compliment your positive outlook and engaging personality. As we are in the infrastructure service game, practical knowledge of the following in an enterprise environment would be preferred.

• Backup Solutions: Arcserve; Commvault; NetBackup
• Cloud Services: Azure; Intune
• Messaging Technologies: Exchange; Skype for Business; MS Team; O365/M365
• Mobility Technologies: Citrix XenApp; XenDesktop
• Microsoft System Center: Experience with components of the Microsoft System Center (SCCM, SCOM, SCEP, Orchestrator)
• Virtualization Technologies: VMware
• Windows Technologies: Active Directory; DFS; DHCP; DNS; Group Policy Management; SharePoint; Certificates; Antivirus; Patching
• Monitoring tools: SPLUNK
• Any exposure in Storage/Hardware (HP; EMC; IBM; Nimble; Purestorage) technologies would be advantageous.
