Spectrum Foundation Looking for Community Support Worker – Residential – Wellington at Lower Hutt, Wellington Full Time

30-40hours per week (scheduled between 6am – 10pm, 7 days a week.)

$22.49 -$28.25 per hour

Spectrum Care Trust supports adults who have intellectual disabilities and we are looking for a new team member in Lower Hutt. This role is based in Boulcott, Lower Hutt. There is some flexibility for the right candidate, we are looking for someone who is able to work between 30 and 40 hours per week, to be negotiated between the appointee and manager.

The majority of hours are scheduled between 6am – 10pm, 7 days a week.

We’re looking for someone kind and empathic to support 4 young people in their 20’s, some of whom have limited mobility when out and about.

You will assist during activities, household tasks and hopefully bring ideas of your own for things they may enjoy doing and experiencing. They are busy bees with high energy. We’ll need someone who can keep up and engage them in music, swimming and sensory delights. Someone who is great at interaction- using your expressions and voice to ‘connect’. Support is needed with personal cares and eating.

If that’s new to you, don’t worry; everyone has to start somewhere. The main thing is that you are a kind, genuine person, who is insightful and intuitive, and ready to be lively and active or gentle and soothing as needed.
