Position Summary
Food Service Staff prepare and cook food for guest groups, summer campers, and staff. The Food Service Staff is hard working, organized, creative, and passionate about food. The Food Service Staff works with the SpringHill Team to ensure all guests have a great experience.
Key Job Functions
Prepare and cook a large variety of food (following training) for guest groups, summer campers and staff
Must possess a desire for on-the-job training/learning
Ensure food comes out simultaneously in a high quality, timely fashion
Assist team with daily cleaning and sanitation procedures as well as dish washing duties as assigned
Responsible for following daily preparation sheets for proper preparation and cooking as keeping an organized, clean work area
Provide operational support. The position is vital to the success of our summer operations and is responsible for keeping staff and campers fed
Must be able to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment
Must be a team player and be able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time
Complete other duties as assigned by the Dining Hall Manager
Experience and Qualifications Requirements
Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill
Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred not required
Must possess desire to learn on the job
Ability to perform high volumes of tasks with frequent interruptions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
Ability to prioritize and perform detailed work
Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays may be required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, bend, and twist
Ability to push and pull loads
Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
Good hand-eye coordination
