Square Looking for Software Engineer, Payment Onboarding at San Francisco, CA Full Time

Job Description

We are looking for a product-focused full-stack software engineer to join our Payment Onboarding Team. Our work enables sellers to easily join Square’s financial ecosystem and start taking payments. Sellers rely on our software to guide them through verifying their identity and business information. We also play a critical part in ensuring more people can use Square’s services by expanding our onboarding of sellers in new countries, business types, and payment methods.

You will:

• Build frontend interfaces and high volume, highly available services that support excellent product experiences and are crucial to the Square onboarding process around the world
• Partner with other engineers across Square and Trusted Identity to drive Square’s expansion into new markets while remaining in compliance with international money movement and privacy regulations
• Hold yourself, and your teammates accountable to the standards of engineering that enables Square to safely move billions of dollars in payments and allow our customers to trust us with their sensitive data

Qualifications

You have:

• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; candidates in this role typically have 2+ years of industry experience
• Programming depth with JavaScript and one of Ruby, Python, Java, or Go
• Great communication skills and an ability to work cross-functionally
• An openness to collaboration and willingness to grow as an engineer
• A sense of customer empathy and desire to influence the product direction
• Understanding and curiosity in creating well thought out, scalable, low-latency, global systems

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 – USD $185,900

Zone B: USD $144,500 – USD $176,700

Zone C: USD $136,900 – USD $167,300

Zone D: USD $129,300 – USD $158,100
