Job Summary

Are you a dynamic, driven and inspiring individual with a proven record of successfully leading and managing a team, particularly towards the achievement of KPIs, and preferably one which has worked with complex and challenging individuals? Do you have experience of working in an educational setting?

If so, St Giles Trust is looking for an Education Welfare and Inclusion Manager to oversee the setting up and day-to-day operational delivery of a range of new and existing services embedded within educational settings across West Yorkshire. These include our award-winning SOS+ Project and SAFE Task Force – providing training to Education Inclusion Mentors, alongside supporting the delivery of Social Skills Training by our partner agencies within 13 schools across Leeds.

About this exciting opportunity

Our successful candidate will provide strong, effective and inspirational leadership and management to the team of SOS+ Facilitators, Mentors, Trainers, Peer Advisors and volunteers, developing a positive team culture and continuous high performance, whilst also being as the main point of liaison with key educational partners. You will also manage and have accountability of service budgets and for the setting up of service level agreements and monitoring the achievement of contractual and organisational KPIs.

We will also count on you to develop positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to manage operational and regulatory risks in relation to safeguarding, data protection and health and safety, while working collaboratively with other managers and staff members – including presenting at meetings, working groups and other forums. Providing strong leadership in dealing with complex issues and taking a mentoring approach to support the development of the team’s confidence and skills are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• The ability to lead a team to deliver successful outcomes whilst maintaining quality standards

• Experience of working with services/students within or affected by the Criminal Justice System

• Experience of setting up and establishing a new service model

• Relevant professional or managerial qualification/experience

• Detailed knowledge of education welfare and inclusion and the factors that link persistent absenteeism, exclusions, and serious youth violence

• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work
