St Michael’s hospital Looking for Covid Screener – Entrance at Toronto, ON Full Time
The primary role of the Screener is to greet and screen all staff, physicians, learners, patients and visitors that enter through the St. Michael’s Hospital site main lobbies of Unity Health Toronto for any symptoms of COVID-19.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screen all persons wishing to enter the hospital for symptoms of COVID-19 using a standardized screening tool
Maintain flow at the entrance ensuring everyone entering the location is screened
Ensure hand sanitization and distribute masks according to mask distribution guidelines
Adhere to necessary policy and procedures related to wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Verify staff eligibility for entrance into the hospital by verifying employment status with hospital ID
Ensure all persons entering the facility follow proper precautionary measures and wear the correct protective apparel as required
Refer individuals to advanced screening or placement within a room in the ED if required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a high school diploma
Availability to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights), 7 days per week
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors and to stand for extended periods of time
Willingness to wear protective apparel (mask, gloves and gowns)
Demonstrated strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Flexibility and adaptability
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Sound judgment and conflict management skills
Reliability and punctuality
Demonstrated ability to work co-operative with a variety of people in a team environment
Second language(s) is an asset
Hours of Work: 24 hr/7 days-a-week operation, must be available for all shifts: mornings, days, evenings, overnights. Weekdays, weekends & holidays. 7.5 hr shifts.
Shifts are subject to change as per departmental needs.
