State Collection Service Inc Hiring for Insurance Follow Up at Houston, TX Full Time

The GREAT STATE TEAM is seeking Remote Insurance Follow Up Specialists to join our fast-growing teams! As an Insurance Follow Up Specialist you will work to provide resolution on unpaid or denied medical claims. This includes accurate claim submission, following up with insurance companies, working claim denials and completing appeals. This position works remotely, using the telephone and company computer systems to accomplish their daily tasks.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Follow up with insurance companies to resolve unpaid or denied claims
• Complete reconsideration requests or appeals on denied claims
• Verify eligibility and coverage electronically or calling insurance companies directly
• Accurately compile and submit claims to insurance companies
• Follow client-specific protocols and policies when carrying out duties
• Investigate and respond to client inquiries as needed
• Follow HIPAA guidelines in handling patient information
• Adhere to SCSI policies and procedures, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, and as directed by Training & Management
• Participate in training, department and company meetings as required
• Handle insurance correspondence with accuracy, timeliness and according to protocol
• Clearly communicate with management regarding problems and opportunities for resolution on a timely basis
• Represents State Collection Service, Inc. its internal and external customers, and fellow employees in a professional manner with dignity and respect
• Utilize company and client information systems successfully to gain results as a part of daily duties
• Status account and document all work performed in the company and client computer systems

Qualifications:

• 1+ year experience working in an insurance follow-up environment within the medical field
• Knowledge/experience of medical terminology, patient billing, insurance and reimbursement process, healthcare insurance and/or healthcare administration
• Ability to read and understand EOB statements
• Knowledge of State and Federal billing guidelines required
• Understanding of ICD/CPT medical billing codes
• Ability to enter and update data on company and client systems in an accurate, timely manner
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Strong organization skills. The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work successfully and cooperatively within a team-based environment
• Articulate written and verbal communication skills
• Significant attention to detail

Wage:

• $19.50-$22.00/hr plus monthly bonus opportunities based on performance
