About the Job:
As the Inventory Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and ensuring the accurate reporting of parts, supplies, and fixed assets for INDOT. You must apply professional and technical knowledge of inventory software to create reports for all district sections and sub district locations. You will provide technical assistance clarifying and interpreting policies and procedures and to ensure compliance with INDOT requirements.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Solve numerous detailed problems and troubleshooting on INDOT’s automated inventory control system including research and manual inventory processes district wide and perform required changes.
Assign and maintain state inventory asset numbers to INDOT’s fixed assets.
Perform inventory audits, monitor cycle counts, review results, and make recommendations for correcting problems and errors.
Work with the District Fleet Manager in preparation of the Annual Surplus Auction.
Serve as Departments’ Assistant District Disposition Agent and ensure all required documentation is submitted for the removal of assets from inventory.
Train District Sections and Sub district personnel on the policies and procedures set forth by State Board of Accounts and INDOT Inventory Support Training on M5 system and on the operation of stockrooms.
Enter asset numbers in the People Soft Asset Management Module.
Train shop foremen in the Motorola On-Line System for mobile and handheld radio repair and troubleshoot problems.
Maintain statistical data required for reports.
Report to upper management concerning information maintained in the asset management systems.

What You’ll Need for Success:
This person must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
Knowledge of INDOT policies and procedures.
Specialized technical knowledge of automated inventory systems.
Broad knowledge of the PeopleSoft Asset Management System to enter Asset Tag information.
Knowledge of policy and regulations concerning disposition of surplus and obsolete assets.
Ability to learn and operate various computer systems.
Ability to train District Sections and Sub district personnel on the system and on the operation of stockrooms.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
