The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is seeking a qualified candidate to perform all aspects of grounds keeping including grass cutting throughout grounds on a variety of different types of mowers, bundle and dispose of fallen debris and clear landscapes, rake and dispose of leaves, assist in designing/planting of flower beds for grounds beautification. Snow removal and salt/sand application throughout grounds, repair and smooth potholes throughout grounds, clean, maintain, and repair small equipment as needed. Assists the department within any other tasks as needed. _Please Note: _This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with Saturday/Sunday as days off. _Duties and Responsibilities__ (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Participates in cutting grass, weeds, and brush either by manual tools or power-driven equipment. * Prunes, trims/and or plants trees, shrubs and flowers. * Participates in the propagation, growth and care of flowers, plants and shrubs. * Seeds, fertilizes and sprays lawns, shrubs, plants and flowers. * Participates in the raking and collecting of leaves or rubbish and cleans institution or state building roads, parking lots, walks, drains and catch basins. * Assist in planning floral, plant or other designs for grounds beautification and participates in execution of such designs. * Makes minor repairs to sidewalks or roads. * Participates in shoveling snow, sanding roads and walks, and performs other similar tasks in connection with snow removal. * Drives a truck and operates power driven equipment used in the care and maintenance of institution or building grounds. * Makes minor repairs to grounds keeping equipment. _Required Qualifications_: * Skills in operating equipment used in grounds keeping work such as lown mowers, rototillers, etc. * Possesion of a current and valid Massachusetts Drivers License _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency. * American Sign Language (ASL) _About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH):_ Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
