The department administers a pharmacy benefit for beneficiaries in various programs such as Medicaid, Healthy Michigan Plan, Children’s Special Health Care Services, Maternal Outpatient Medical Services, and Family Planning. The Common Formulary and Pharmacy Policy Section is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the MCO Common Formulary, monitoring and daily interaction with the associated staff and internal/external stakeholders; addressing related questions from internal and external customers; identifying and preventing potential programmatic issues while maintaining stakeholder participation; ensuring department compliance with related federal laws and audits; providing information for and implementing Common Formulary related administrative and policy decision making through research, data gathering and analyses. Additionally, the Section coordinates internal and external meetings with pharmacy providers/liaisons, promulgates all pharmacy policies, prepares beneficiary and provider letters, and coordinates pharmacy related State Plan Amendments required for compliance with federal or state laws/rules/regulations, Department initiatives, etc. This position supervises professional staff, defines work objectives, establishes priorities for the section and directs quality Common Formulary and Pharmacy Policy operations in a fiscally responsible manner for the department.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

Position Location/Remote Office: This position will work remotely.Occasional travel to the office located at 400 S Pine St., Lansing MI may be required. Selected candidates who have been approvedto work remotelymust complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
