Role:

As a (back-end) software engineer, you are responsible for developing the world-class software that sets Stellar apart from other restaurants. We deliver innovative software experiences to our customers that are only possible with food automation. You will thrive at Stellar if you enjoy producing minimally scoped features that maximize impact with minimal cost. You enjoy elegant code that is punches above its weight-class in terms of lines of code. And you enjoy development practices like test-driven development, docker-ized development environments, continuous integration, and infrastructure as code.

What You’ll Do:

• Write code that is effective, maintainable, and well-tested
• Write tests that are clear and easy to maintain while striving for test completeness on all external interfaces and automated behaviors
• Write documentation for all external interfaces and for all major internal patterns
• Assist in feature design with lead software engineers

What You’ll Need (Qualifications):

• 1-4 years of meaningful solo contributor experience as a software engineer.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Significant experience with Python.
• Experience writing complex APIs and understanding the fundamental database queries behind each API call.
• Experience with SQL schema design and database optimization.
• Experience with creating and running containers (Docker and Kubernetes.)
• Experience running services in the cloud.
• Experience with end-to-end test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
