Job Summary

• Manual entry of all remittance reports and payment received for fringe benefit contributions and filing of documents after processing.
• Entering of new information to establish accounts for new signatory employers including establishment and maintenance of a paper file. Maintains individual employer information on the system ensuring current status. Makes updates and troubleshoots as necessary.
• Receives walk-in and telephone inquiries from members regarding benefit status, conducts necessary research and dispenses correct information.
• Maintains and updates eligibility status and registration status for members in accordance with Fund policy.
• Consults with members regarding COBRA, retiree options, spousal benefits and other questions relating to eligibility.
• Preparation and balancing of daily bank deposits.
• Preparation of cash flow documents.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all benefit-related issues including but not limited to COBRA, senior member rates and eligibility considerations and applies that knowledge in various aspects of the work.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all Welfare Trust Fund policies that relate to the processing of payments and member eligibility and applies that knowledge in various aspects of the work.
• Investigates and corrects discrepancies in member and employer records such as Social Security numbers, addresses, dependent information and so forth.
• Operates a desktop computer in order to access and manipulate information from the RVI program, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Uses this information and these programs in order to prepare reports, research problems and provide information to members and administrative staff.
• Assists the Collections Manager in tracking of delinquent accounts; provides information to the Collections Manager upon request.
• Operates office machinery, such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, check scanners and microfilm machines.

• Much of the work is performed in a seated position: however, typical daily activities can require standing, walking, bending, stooping or kneeling for extended periods. Will occasionally be required to lift and move items such as file boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to maintain accurate alphabetical files.
• High understanding of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Past experience in customer service work.
• Ability to quickly and accurately perform data entry using a desktop computer.
• Ability to quickly and accurately perform calculations on a ten-key adding machine.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds.
• Physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment requiring periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping or kneeling.
• Proficiency in grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to compose concise, to-the-point letters that are free of misspellings and typographical errors.
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with members in situations where the member may be upset or angry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Employee works in an open office setting with between 15 and 30 other employees. The environment may, at times, become noisy with multiple telephone and direct conversations occurring at once.
• Employee may be required to pursue multiple tasks at once and to frequently switch between tasks in order to maintain production needs.
• Work occurs on different building levels and requires the use of stairs and/or elevators.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 – $30.45 per hour
