About The Role

As a Journalist at Stuff/ThreeNews, you’ll be at the forefront of breaking news, live reporting, and trending topics. You’ll also dive deep to craft original, high-quality video stories that set the agenda and make an impact. Your work will span video, audio, text, and social media, ensuring our audience stays informed in the most engaging way possible.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Creating content for Stuff.co.nz ThreeNews and third-party platforms.
• Experimenting with the latest digital storytelling tools to enhance audience experience.
• Hosting or presenting content when required.
• Building and maintaining a strong network of sources to break exclusive stories.
• Finding fresh, innovative ways to present stories that are already in the public eye.
• Contributing to a 24/7 newsroom that thrives on fresh, fast, and high-impact content across video, audio, and text.

What We’re Looking For

• A knack for spotting and telling a great story in the most compelling way possible
• Solid experience in journalism and a strong understanding of media law.
• Expertise in production, editing, and storytelling across digital platforms.
• The confidence to present on-camera when needed.
• A data-savvy approach, using audience insights to shape content strategy.

• The ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom.
