Payroll Clerk

Our company is growing, and we are looking for exceptional people to grow with us!

We are looking for a qualified Payroll Clerk to complete the weekly employee compensation in the company. This will be a brand new, IN OFFICE position, that will allow you the chance to put your own stamp on it and provide opportunities to move forward in the company.

The right candidate will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information for our 140+ employees, calculating wages and making payments, as well as doing employee orientations, benefit tracking and enrollment.

We require that the payroll clerk have an absolute understanding of the importance of ensuring that all information is treated with complete confidentiality. Candidates must be experienced in accurately entering data with requisite attention to detail and will have superior math and computer skills. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities. The goal is to conduct all payroll procedures expeditiously while always ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Skills

• Proven experience as payroll clerk
• Demonstrable dependability and understanding of the importance of the position
• Familiarity with and an understanding of general accounting principles
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in the collection, entry and reporting of data with attention to detail and confidentiality
• Computer proficiency, particularly MS Office products is required
• Precise and accurate numerical skills
• Outstanding organization and time management skills
• An aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving
• The ability to work both independently and be a team player

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify hours for all employees
• Enter all time into system, allocating to the appropriate G/L and costing categories
• Complete the weekly payroll process through our system
• Initiate and/or prepare payments, either by check or direct deposits through a bank payment system in a timely manner
• Update paper and electronic payroll records
• Track PTO accrual and use
• Track and enroll employees in our insurances and 401(k) plan
• Address inquiries and questions regarding payroll from employees and management
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in time, rate or allocation
• Complete period audits of deductions
• Prepare and submit reports to supervisor

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BSc/BA in accounting is a plus

Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
