Due to continued expansion Suir Engineering are currently looking to hire numerous Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a Semi Conductor project in Kildare.

Overall Role Objective

The Fitter will be responsible for fitting and installing piping in accordance with construction drawings and specifications in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties

• To work safely and consider safety of all team members at all times.
• To report any safety concerns immediately to the person in charge.
• To recognise that the company provides only top quality installations and strive to do this at all times.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications and adhere to these.
• To fabricate piping for welders in the workshop and field environment and to install pipework in the field.
• To prepare non-welded joints and install non-welded pipe systems.
• Get it right first time, not to start work until he is sure that the work can be finished.
• Be proactive in co-ordination of services with other trades, both in-house and external and work with the charge hand or foreman to ensure services are co-ordinated before installing.
• Be time served and fully experienced in use of all hand held and power tools normal to the trade.
• To set out pipe systems and brackets from datum provided.
• Understands and is experienced with basic principles regarding various metal types and their installation. Particularly aware of cross contamination of Stainless Material and the impact of this on installed pipe.
• Leaves systems clean and ready for testing.
• Assist in testing of pipework systems.
• Keep workplace tidy and free of hazards.
• Be proactive in notifying the person in charge where elements of the installation are not up to company standard or project specifications.
• Be team orientated and willing to ensure that apprentices get the training and diversity of work they need to learn.
• Work as part of the overall team to improve execution methods and efficiencies.
• Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by your Manager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

• Relevant Craft qualification.
• Good practical skills.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• An understanding of technical manuals and engineering diagrams.
• Good communication skills.
• The ability to work quickly under pressure and to deadlines.
• The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues.
• Adherence to PM schedules.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiar with the use of Six Sigma tools.

Lodge of €181.68 available for anyone working on projects outside of Waterford.
