Suncorp Group is looking for a Casual Software Test Engineer to join our Sales Channels team in the Insurance Technology department.

The Sales Channels Team aspires to create amazing digital experiences for Suncorp’s Insurance offerings. The role of the Software Test Engineer exists to ensure our solutions are of high quality, both from a customer experience point of view as well as a design and implementation perspective.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or a Junior Software Test Engineer looking to learn and develop within an innovative and collaborative environment; working on Digital Distribution, Consumer, Statutory Classes and Commercial initiatives.

What you’ll do

• You will be mentored to develop the skills and knowledge of a Software Test Engineer
• Work within a supportive team to provide guidance on how to integrate all types of testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
• Contribute and assist with developing test strategies, test design and execution
• Be accountable for ensuring project testing is conducted within defined business needs and requirements
• Gain exposure to technical automation – write scripts and automate testing practices
• Raise, report and track risks and defects in accordance with Suncorp Agile principles

What you’ll bring

• Currently studying towards or have completed a Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
• A solid technical understanding of programming throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile methodologies
• Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
• Motivated to develop your career through commitment to continuous learning
