The Role

Our Technology & Transformation function aspires to create experiences our customers value, while providing best in class technology, advice and services to enable Insights across Suncorp. The role of Software Engineer – Digital Service exists to deliver outstanding business results by developing functional and appealing Digital applications to drive great user experiences of customer-centric solutions.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for coding technical solutions based on industry best practice and principles. You’ll also be ultimately accountable for code quality, solution output, software engineering output and the end to end delivery cycle of initiatives that ensure our delivery is best practice both at the time solutions are required and ongoing.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse system requirements and develop technical design
• Develop and maintain Digital applications
• Conform to quality assurance standards and agreed processes within the department, and application ecosystems
• Perform unit and integration testing on developed code
• Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases
• Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years as a Full-Stack Developer
• Experience working in a large organisation and supporting high availability production systems
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of Java, Javascript, Maven, Grundle, Spring, React & Redux, Spring Boot, AWS and testing frameworks
• Proven Diagnostic and Troubleshooting skills
• Proven Testing skills and TDD or Behavioural Driven Development
• Agile collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence etc) experience
