Senior Hogan Software Engineer ODS & Platform

About the role:

Suncorp Bank is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Hogan ODS & Platform) to join our high performing Hogan Core Banking platform team. In this role, you will be a member of a cross-functional engineering team that supports Suncorp’s Hogan Core Banking Platform.

More specifically, you will:

• Act in the role of Subject Matter Expert Hogan (ODS), guide the technical design and development of ODS cross-functional, multi-platform, application solutions.
• Act as a champion and technical lead for mainframe and Hogan Core Banking at Suncorp Bank
• Support mainframe environment and Hogan platform and modernisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-platform engineering teams to design and implement technical or application solutions across multiple domains
• Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, specifications and estimates
• Assist with investigations into solutions, liaise with relevant business and technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing
• Provide timely and effective advice on progress and ability to meet service and solution deliverables within agreed expectations
• Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further quality assurance activities
• Conform to Suncorp security assurance standards and agreed processes
• Support application software by analysing and fixing problems
• Work collaboratively maintaining ongoing dialogue and relationships with stakeholders as part of continued solution development and support.
• Support Hogan pre-production and production environments including packaging of software for production release
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behaviours
• Effectively manage business stakeholder expectations and requirements
• Utilise Agile methodologies in your work

About you:

• Extensive experience with Hogan specifically with the Hogan ODS and PAS applications (Mandatory)
• Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline (Desired) or equivalent experience
• Assembler training (Mandatory)
• At least (10+) years appropriate Hogan Core Banking industry experience.
• At least (10+) years in supporting a mainframe programming or scripting languages (including COBOL, JCL).
• At least (5+) years in supporting a mainframe environment (including z/OS, mainframe storage, CICS, Endevor, Control-M, DB2, MQ)
• Working knowledge of Assembler.
• Experience in mainframe production support or environment support.
• Experience working in an agile development/delivery environment.
• Experience in working with and developing Continuous Integration approaches.
• Experience working in a distributed team
