The Role

The purpose of the Senior Software Test Engineer is to work with the team to develop and provide guidance on automated testing throughout the Agile SDLC. In this role you will ensure that the quality of the solution and resulting test artefacts and results meet the defined needs and requirements in accordance with published standards and/or processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with delivery teams to deliver innovative automated test solutions/procedures to meet delivery milestones. Leveraging the latest engineering developments to accelerate delivery and customer value
• Ensure the types of testing needed to produce quality software are executed i.e. functional, system, integration, regression, performance and load/capacity variations and are planned to fit into the agile delivery cycle.
• Challenge existing engineering paradigms to accelerate time to market
• Challenge existing testing paradigms to accelerate and lifting quality testing cycles
• Collaborate with delivery team members to ensure quality assurance and testing techniques are applied throughout the SDLC.
• Contribute to the estimation of test effort, tools and infrastructure set up, deployment and release activities.
• Use techniques such as DevOps/CI/CD

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience working in software testing positions (i.e. 5+ years’ experience)
• Previous Experience working in a QA leadership role including coaching, mentoring other QAs
• Strong understanding and technical knowledge of automated testing
• Strong testing skills in both front end and back end
• Proven programming and scripting skills (JavaScript is essential)
• Experience in programming/scripting (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
• Knowledge of all levels and types of testing (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, compatibility, maintainability, etc.)
• Ability to create and maintain automation frameworks for Mobile Testing (e.g., Appium, Calabash, etc.) and API Testing (Pact, Frisby, REST-Assured, Postman, SoapUI, etc.)
