The Role

The Software Test Engineer works as part of the Digital Customer Documents Release & Testing team to effectively deliver the team strategy and drive the Insurance Projects program of work for Personal and Commercial products.

This role focuses on working closely with our Technology and Business stakeholders in a co-ordination and advisory function for system releases / implementation across Insurance, covering Policy, Digital, ClaimCenter, Business Intelligence and support some systems testing. The Insurance Projects Test Analyst will play a key role in facilitating the various testing phases throughout the project and release lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Digital Customer Document technology and business project delivery teams to validate the changes across the Insurance function
• Develop and maintain testing-related documentation sufficient to audit requirements
• Establish effective working relationships with Insurance Projects Delivery teams and business stakeholders
• Integrate the utilisation of Test Automation capabilities
• Create high quality test result artefacts that meet compliance expectations
• Review test reports and business communications
• Perform user acceptance (PVT, BRT, BCT & DR) testing across a wide range of systems, web applications and technologies
• Participate in Post implementation / Warranty support or incident reviews

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years appropriate industry experience in a Software Test Engineer role
• Experience working in the financial services industry
• Experience in creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the QA domain
• Experience in executing test strategies for large programs of work
• Experience in influencing project direction by quantifying quality or risk in a business context
• Experience in programming/scripting (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile principles
• Understanding of how to test in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of all levels and types of testing (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, compatibility, maintainability, etc.)
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology is highly desirable
