Senior Manager Project Management – First Hill Development Project
SCHEDULE: IN OFFICE POSITION ; There may be some remote flexibility (if local) sporadically. Monday-Friday; 8a-5p PST. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.
Providence Swedish is calling for a Senior Manager Project Management for Swedish Medical Center First Hill Modernization Project in Seattle. The Senior Manager Project Management is responsible for managing the programming, planning, design, construction, and activation of complex projects under the general supervision of the Director. Ensures the completion of projects within budget, on schedule, and meets all program objectives and appropriate government regulations. Acts as a liaison between the client/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies. Responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the work of project participants and assigned project managers. The Senior Manager will oversee Project’s compliance with Providence Swedish capital project platform and be responsible for developing consistent cost and schedule reporting and integration within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages, assesses, and documents project scope and program, describing the objectives, physical requirements, parameters, and constraints of the project, including not only the user’s functional needs but also hospital and external jurisdictional criteria for safety, operation, maintenance, energy efficiency, quality standards, and aesthetics.
Manages the review and approval process to ensure appropriate approvals of all design work from schematic studies through final construction documents and related field changes; as well as approval for conceptual and detailed projects budgets.
Manages the selection process and contract negotiations for consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Implements quality control measures to ensure project compliance with department, hospital, government codes and regulations; also ensures conformance to the requirements of all project participants.
Manages communications on a regular and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions.
Manages the process of furnishing and equipment selection, purchasing, and installation.
Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent, timely, and auditable project records/files, and cost estimates with department procedures.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) Certification
10 or more years experience with Construction Project/Program Management techniques and methods
10 or more years experience with Healthcare Specific Construction Projects
Proven experience as Director or a similar role of a large scale Construction Projects

The 697-bed tertiary-care center on the Swedish/First Hill campus is the flagship of the Swedish health-care system. Swedish/First Hill has one of the most active and advanced birthing programs in Washington state and houses a Level III neonatal intensive-care unit.
