Swinburne University of Technology Hiring for Creative Developer Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

EMD Studio is looking for a character animator who also has 3D modeling and asset creation skills to join our Melbourne based team. Our studio, belonging to the Swinburne University of Technology, offers the unique opportunity to work creatively with game engines as well as brand new technologies for research and applied outcomes. Housing an on-site motion capture and volumetric capture space, our work spans AR/VR education and training to theatrical performances involving live robotics. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Animating 3D characters and props for applications within game engines
• Support virtual production and volumetric capture spaces for use in research and commercial projects, as well as pipeline development (volumetric capture experience not required).
• Assisting with processing of movement data i.e retargeting, green screening, encoding.
• Importing & Implementing Animations in 3D Game Engines (Unity, Unreal)Implementation of animated works or 3d assets into relevant game engines, which may include blending animation based on dynamic triggers
• Assisting with the creation of 3D environments (modeling, texturing, materials, etc)
• Contributing to creative workshops and broader collaborative processes
• Helping to foster a healthy working environment

About you

To be suitable for the role you will have:

• Bachelor degree in Animation, Game Development, Software Development or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• High level of experience and demonstrated ability in XR and volumetric capture development
• Advanced skills and experience in one or more of the following: programming, software development, 3D art, 3D animation, interaction design, motion and/or volumetric capture
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills in areas relevant to XR development
