Swinburne University of Technology Hiring for Senior Software Engineer Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Application Development team and to be responsible for developing and maintaining Swinburne’s Service Oriented Architecture supporting the transfer of data and the integration of systems. In this role you will establish strong partnerships with stakeholders and colleagues to develop and implement significant improvements for Student Administration, Digital Marketing, Learning, Teaching, Research and Corporate functions.

As a senior member of the team, you will also be required to:

• design and implement standardized and reusable services;
• assist with 3rd level support as required, analysing complex systems issues and working them through to the successful implementation of a solution;
• provide guidance and mentoring on technical solutions for less experienced developers; and
• driving a high standard of customer service and working with stakeholders to ensure recognition of, and responsiveness to, the needs of internal and external clients.

About you

It is highly desirable for you to have substantial and relevant experience working on complex projects. The success of this role depends on you being able to demonstrate the following:

• Solid experience with analysis and design of applications and integrations with both packaged and in-house developed software.
• Highly developed analytical skills and significant experience in the preparation, development, and deployment of IT systems.
• Excellent understanding of IT governance and its processes, with a blend of business acumen and operational experience in a large-scale IT environment.
• Programming experience including: JAVA, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, JSON, SQL, Spring, Hibernate and Maven
