Swinburne University of Technology Hiring for Systems Developer Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together for a better world. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on the Systems Developer role that will work as part of the Research Analytics Services team in Swinburne Research to develop and support bespoke and vendor research systems. The primary focus of the role is retiring redundant and/or legacy components, re-architecting extant components to support business requirements and implementing robust integration between systems.

As the Systems Develper you will play a vital role in:

• the creation of a business intelligence foundation which will support business operations and provide deep insights that support the University research and innovation agenda and meet compliance obligations;
• developing, maintaining, and continuously improving research systems, data and processes; and ensuring best practice in coding, data collection, storage, transfer and reporting methods are developed and implemented;
• establishing organisational data and reporting standards and quality assurance processes, drafting documentation, providing technical solutions, and remediating current systems and data where necessary.

You will work within a flexible and innovative environment and collobrate with individuals who are passionate about contributing to the delivery of our 2025 Strategic Plan.

About you

To be suitable for the role will possess the following:

• A relevant qualification in software engineering, information systems or computer science, or extensive relevant experience, education or training.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, development and delivery of technical solutions and applications, applying Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, to the satisfaction of stakeholders and end users.
• Demonstrated experience querying, displaying, manipulating and storing data, including the ability to write advanced SQL, PHP, HTML/CSS/JS, and Python (or other scripting language) to build applications and manipulate and visualise data.
• Demonstrated experience with the visualisation of data in reports and dashboards
