Role: We are looking for a skilled front-end developer to collaborate with a team of designers and developers to enhance our JavaScript platform. You will be responsible for writing testable, reusable and scalable code to implement platform features.

• Solve complex technical and scaling problems.
• Enhance the user experience.
• Identify and evaluate appropriate technologies for delivering Platform solutions.
• Work for a global company intent on facilitating environmental change.

Areas of responsibility

• Develop cloud-based software using best-fit technology for the Platform.
• Review current best practices for cloud architecture and development for the application.
• Design and develop DevOps processes.
• Mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional/industry experience.
• Strong experience and understanding of modern reactive JavaScript frameworks like Vue, React, or Angular.
• Tertiary education in the field of computer science or a relevant area.
• Expert knowledge of web development including JavaScript (ES6) and HTML/CSS.
• Proficiency with TypeScript.
• Strong experience with modern CSS scripting language like SASS/LESS.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript class and component composition and object-oriented principles.
• Good knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and NPM.
• Skilled understanding of GIT source control and code management practices.
• Ability to self-manage time and responsibilities to achieve business and project objectives.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passionate about front-end development.

Additional preferred skills include:

• Industrial experience with Vue and its ecosystem (Vuex, Vue Router, BootstrapVue).
• Hands-on experience with Nuxt.js.
• A familiarity with start-up company culture.
• Experience writing back-end APIs.
