In this role you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the call routing systems at Symbio. This is a full stack, hands-on role that will be developing new features for our customers which meet the needs of our business. As a software engineer, your role will involve building with best practices and resiliency in mind, adhering to agile processes and dealing with business and technology stakeholders.

Impact you will make in this role: You will be responsible for solutioning, developing, deploying and supporting our core call routing systems, which include our existing call routing systems and the Greenfields build of our future state systems. Our customers rely on our products to connect, communicate and do business across Australia, NZ, Europe and Asia and we service over 20 million calls per day, so this is a key opportunity to work in systems where scalability and reliability are core to everything we do.

After hours support : There is an expectation that this role is part of the teams after hours support rotating roster (level 3).

This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

What you’ll do as a Software Engineer:

• Build out new functionality to help us scale our platforms globally
• Write code that is well tested and secure
• Actively share knowledge with your entire team
• Continually pushing for and implement engineering best practices
• Work in an agile environment and help to improve these practices

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Minimum 2 years experience with C++ or Java
• An understanding in AWS and serverless computing (ideally Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda & Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines that enable daily production releases
• Experience with effective monitoring, logging and security best practices
• Desire to learn and drive efficiency
• You are a person who continually self learns and improves your technical skillsets
• You have a growth mindset and not afraid of a challenge
• Enjoy working in a team environment.

Desirable to have:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with React
