Our Transformation and Technology Business Unit is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the team on a 2-year Max-Term contract, based at our Perth CBD office.

The Junior Software Engineer will be part of the Technology Chapter, focused on supporting the design and development of solutions and aligning to standards. The purpose of this position is to work in collaboration with other developers, agile teams and business stakeholders to develop solutions that meet the business requirements, achieve initiative timelines and align with set standards.

We are looking for an inspiring person who will:

• Effectively engagement with business stakeholders to identify requirements
• Create quality code that aligns to Synergy standards and ensure technical debt is limited
• Develop unit tests and integration tests for the code created
• Maintain the DevOps tooling that supports the Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Quality Controls for the solutions being built
• Work within Agile team environments in a collaborative manner and deliver designs and solutions within the agreed timeframes

Our ideal candidate will possess the following experience and attributes:

• Certificate III+ in ICT or a similar field or other fields such as engineering, finance, economics, law, philosophy
• Software engineering or other development certifications
• Ability to learn new software products and technologies
• Strong problem solving and good analytical skills (design, development & reporting)
• Ability to handle change and changing requirements in a dynamic environment
