Synergy Wellness Center Hiring for Payroll Specialist at Remote Full Time

Payroll Specialist

Synergy Wellness Center is located in hip downtown Hudson, and we are seeking a Payroll Specialist to process bi-weekly payroll and maintain employee time records for our innovative wellness facility. This part time position starts at 30 hours per month, with anticipation of increasing. Days include Monday – Friday. This is primarily a remote position, BUT will require periodic hours working in our Hudson facility.

Primary Duties:

• Gathers, enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

• Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.

• Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.

• Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Google Workspace and Asana.

• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software, experience with BambooHR/Trax Payroll a plus.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

• Massachusetts residents only for this hybrid (in office/remote) position

Job Type: 30 hours per month to start

Work is combination of in office and remote. Local Massachusetts residents preferred.
