The Role

We are looking for a driven and collaborative professional who is well versed in category management and is ready to take that next career step! Join us as the Procurement Category Manager where you will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic and operational sourcing for areas across indirect category, capital works, facilities and infrastructure spend.

The main responsibilities of this role include..

• Optimise profitability, market share and revenue growth of our short and long goals
• Build a clear view of competitive advantage within the category, including where to play and how to deliver value to the business
• Undertake primary and secondary market research to build an accurate market assessment, including consumer, customer and competitor landscapes
• Promote best in class Supplier relationship management practice.
• Develop and track Category budget, escalating any potential issues promptly

Key to your success will be your ability to quickly identify significant savings in the Indirect or operations space and deliver on those results. This person will need to be a self-starting finisher with the tenacity to influence change. If you are an analytical thinker, able to influence stakeholders, and able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment then we want to hear from you!

Skills And Experience

We are looking for a Procurement Professional who has previous experience in a similar role or is looking to take the next step in their career.

• Sound analytical and numerical skills to ensure that deals support the business model
• You will maintain strong relationships while have the ability to working autonomously to deliver competitive results for Synlait
• Strong Commercial acumen
• Skills to enable you to identify strengths, weaknesses and alternative solutions when dealing with suppliers

A tertiary education in Supply Chain Management or experience in capital works, facilities services procurement, commercial (B2B) or FMCG procurement is highly regarded in this role as well as a recognised Procurement/Supply Chain industry body (eg. CIPS).
